JUBAIL – Saudi women have been told to be independent entrepreneurs by creating jobs for themselves instead of looking for work opportunities in the labor market.
“There still exists less job opportunity for women, and for them to get work is to create employment for themselves given all the support programs now extended to them,” said Farah Al-Faraj, a job trainer and human resource developer at the Businesswomen Center of the Asharqia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Addressing a forum titled “Work Opportunity: Don’t Look for It, Make It Instead,” held here Sunday under the auspices of the Prince Muhammad Bin Fahd Program for Youth Development (PMPYD), Faraj presented several options for women to start their own businesses.
