Paulsell sells fabric covers that are designed to provide wheelchairs with style, color and pizzazz. “It’s a way for self-expression,” she said, noting that she has made covers that celebrate sports teams and allow folks to show their affection for a grandparent.
“You’re only limited by your imagination,” she said. The covers are washable and are secured to each chair with a Velcro strip. The idea for the product came about during Paulsell’s volunteer work with the Central Missouri Honor Flight program. Having a recognizable logo on the veterans’ chairs allowed onlookers to more easily approach them and strike up conversations, she said.
